How we check

Every figure on this site is copied from a document the company or its regulator published. We record which document, and the date we read it.

Primary sources only

Their own page, factsheet, prospectus, brochure or regulator listing. Never a price-comparison site. Two figures we took from aggregators early on turned out to be wrong, which is why the rule is absolute now.

Each plan lists the documents it was built from and when we read them. Where a company's own page carries an old number, we show the number and its date rather than quietly refreshing it — how old a rate is tells you something too.

The same example, every time

Savings plans are shown on one example so they can be compared: the same money in, over the same years, with each plan's own charges taken out. Where a plan will not accept that amount, we use its own minimum and say so. Cover, bonds, loans and pensions each get the example that fits them.

The figures are arithmetic on what the company publishes. They are not forecasts, and nothing is ranked on the rate a company advertises.

If a figure looks wrong

Check it against the documents listed on the plan's page — we would rather you did. If you work for one of these companies and we have it wrong, or have missed a figure you publish, tell us and we will correct the page.

We are not the company, we take no commission from any of them, and we do not update the moment they do. Always check the current terms with them before you hand over money.
