Licensed SACCOs in Kenya

All 158, from the list kept by SASRA, the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority. Being on it means sASRA licenses the society to take deposits, supervises it, and its deposits fall under SASRA's rules. Being off it is a reason to stop and ask questions.

The register does not say what it costs to join, what the society pays on savings or shares, or how quickly you can take your money out. We have not been to these providers to find out, so we do not grade them here — a grade would mean we asked and they would not say. The ones we have researched are on the board.
