What if you stop paying?

Your savings stay with the society. What happens next is set by its own rules, which it does not publish.

What if you need the money early?

You cannot take this money out while you are a member. You get it back when you leave. To leave, you must give 60 days' notice and fill an exit form. Your share capital is transferred to an existing member.

Who this suits

It could work for you if

You want savings you cannot dip into, and the chance to borrow against them. You are an employee of Nampak or Bullpak Kenya, a spouse or adult child of a member, or can be introduced by a member.

Think twice if

You may need the money back soon. It is locked while you are a member. The membership fee and share capital cost money you cannot get back if you leave early.

What they tell you

  • What is the smallest amount you can start with?
    KES 2,000.
  • Are all their charges published?
Yes, every charge they mention has a figure against it.
  • Do they say who regulates them?
Yes — the SASRA. That is who you complain to.
