What does it cost you?

Taken off each payment you makeShelloyees savings products pageNothing

What if you stop paying?

Your share capital and savings stay with the society. You stop earning dividends and interest on deposits. You may still borrow if your balance allows.

What if you need the money early?

Share capital is non-withdrawable while you are a member. You get it back when you leave the society.

Who this suits

It could work for you if

You work for one of the named companies and want to save money you cannot spend.

Think twice if

You need your money accessible. Share capital cannot be withdrawn while you are a member, and the society does not publish a dividend rate.

What they tell you

  • What is taken off the money you pay in?
Nothing. They state there is no charge here.
  • What is the smallest amount you can start with?
    KES 2,000.
  • Are all their charges published?
Yes, every charge they mention has a figure against it.
  • Do they say who regulates them?
Yes — the SASRA. That is who you complain to.
