What does it cost you?

There are no separate charges. What you pay each month is the price of the cover.

What if you stop paying?

The society does not publish what happens if you stop paying. Ask it directly before you join.

What if you need the money early?

If you withdraw early from the Fixed Deposit, you lose the accrued interest. If you withdraw early from the Kesasa Scheme, you pay a penalty of Ksh 150. Deposits are refunded within 60 days of written notice. You must have repaid all debts and be free from guarantee.

Who this suits

It could work for you if

You want a SACCO with a clear share capital requirement of Ksh 2,000. You also want a range of savings products including a fixed deposit and a regular savings scheme.

Think twice if

You need published rates before you join. The society does not publish its current deposit interest rate or dividend rate on its website. Both are set by the board at year-end after audit.

What they tell you

  • Are all their charges published?
They list no separate charges. What you pay is the price.
  • Do they say who regulates them?
Yes — the SASRA. That is who you complain to.
